Today we walked a small walk down lots of stairs through Weano Gorge that got us
to the Handrail Pool. We held onto a handrail with both hands and climbed down
rocks bolted to the wall. At the pool we swam to the end of where we could go.
It was FREEZING COLD. Then we went to Oxer Lookout. Then we had lunch. Then we
went to Hancock Gorge where we swam and walked to the end. We also found a water
slide that was made out of rocks in a narrow part of the gorge. While we were
walking Hancock Gorge we met some friends that we made at Pender Bay (Max and
James).
After the walk we went back to camp and we made a teepee fort with Max and James
out of big sticks.
We went on a tour through Cutta Cutta Caves where we saw lots of cool rocks
crystals on rocks and a snake but we did not see any bats 🙁. The tree snake was
up in a tiny crevasse in the cave. The type of bats that could have been there
was a ghost bat and leaf-nosed bat.
It took about forty minutes to get there from our camp site. We went past the
boxing crocodile. Then we got to the car park were I saw a lizard. Then we went
over to the crocodile statue where we put on sun screen. Then me and Olivia went
to the gift shop where I got an opal in side a crocodile that was a necklace.
Then we got on the boat. Then we left the dock. We got to see baby crocodiles
with there mum then she launched herself in to the air with her tail and chomped
the meat off the stick. After we continued up river where we stopped at most
crocodiles so they can jump for the meat.
We got to feed birds. I tried to throw the meat in front of the crocodile so the
birds would try to eat the meat and the crocodile could eat them. Sadly it
didn't work.
FINALLY IT FINISHED AND OLIVIA THEN GOT A CROCODILE NECKLACE!!!
This morning we were at Alice Springs then we drove to Devils Marbles.
At Devils Marbles we did a walk that went to see most of the Marbles there was a
bunch of balancing Marbles that did not fall over and a bunch of cracked
Marbles. At the end of the walk there was a look out where we saw the sun set
then me and Olivia played soccer while we waited for dinner.
We went on two ople mine tours. There was one at the camp site. And one at the out scerts of the town. We got a few oples that were pritty good. I got a lizard called Opal!
While in Tom's Opal Mine (the one on the outskirts) I found the "X" rock that meant you get to choose a capsule full of opals for free. I also got a few other pretty good opals that I found there. At the end of the tour we got to trade and sell the opals we found on the tour. The tour guide wetted and sorted through the opals that I found. Then I attempted to bargain for one opal (a special rainbow opal) for $700 and the tour guide (who was pretending to be an opal buyer) said maybe - but in the end I didn't get it. Instead I kept the opal and got $3, 3 chocolate bars and 2 lollipops for the other opals that I sold to him.
I went to a zoo. First we went to the chimpanzees. Then we went to the meerkats. Next we went to the yellow footed rock wallaby. Next we went across the Ridge Track to the elephants and black rhino. Next we continued across the Ridge Track and we stop at 2 look outs. Then we continued across the Ridge Track. Then we went to the giraffes. Next we went across the Boma Track to the cheetass. Arfter we went back down the Boma Track to the Cheeta Track all the way back to the visiters centre. FINALY we went on the bus all the way around wich took about 1 and a harf hours. I all so got a tertle neclas.
